In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago.
Verse one, written by the English poet Christina Rossetti in 1872.
I love that poem. I love winter days.
Having the time to catch up on some reading,
gazing out the window watching the birds,
feeding my flock of sheep,
watching the ewes as they grow heavy with lambs...
Time to do some spinning and knitting,
skirting fleeces, taking photos, editing photos,
working on the website...
Cooking up deliciously hearty dinners
in my new Le Creuset french oven...
(yes, it's worth every penny!)
Hoping for more soon!
