I have been giving presentations about our farm/sheep for the last few years. We've had many groups out to our place to visit, and I've gone to several schools, nursing homes, etc. to talk about our wonderful Icelandic sheep. When I was contacted to do a presentation for a Chicago spinning guild retreat, I decided it was time to do something a little more professional. So, these past two weeks I've been engulfed in putting together my Icelandic Sheep PowerPoint presentation. I also designed new labels for our products. It has been great fun. I love putting together brochures, business cards, etc. Graphic design was my profession, well, before children and sheep! Thank you to Gretl for the invite, and to the Fox Valley Knitters Guildfor being such a wonderful, laid back, and gracious group of knitters! You nearly bought me out! Thank you, thank you! and of course to my faithful and tolerant husband, for his technical support and enduring trust. I'm sure he had no idea what was in store for him when he bought me my first Icelandic sheep for my 40Th birthday seven years ago! It's been quite a trip!
We loved your presentation, the beautiful pictures, and of course, your yarn and roving! Thank you both very much for sharing your time and your passion with us at the retreat. Some of us are planning field trips to the farm in the spring to see the lambs! Gretl
Kelly & Tonya, thanks for the compliments on my photos. Having sheep yourselves, you probably know you have to take a ton of photos to get one decent one. I also have Adobe photoshop elements 7 to help edit. So far, I'm pretty basic when it comes to that, but am trying to learn more! No, I don't do websites. I'm trying to put up a new frontpage site for ourselves and it is taking me forever. Maybe I'm just too picky, and slow! And thank you too, Gretl, for the nice comment. Icelandic lambs are the cutest things on earth!

Home to a beautiful flock of registered Icelandic Sheep in Northern Illinois. 2011 was is our ninth season of lambing. We’ve worked hard to build a flock that encompasses all the aspects we love about the Icelandic breed--hardiness, exceptional meat conformation, superb maternal instincts, prolificacy and outstanding fleeces. Please look around and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. We offer quality breeding stock, both mill spun and hand spun yarns, roving, and raw fleeces. Welcome to Red Brick Road Farm!Questions?rbrfarm@centurylink.net
Wondering about the names of our sheep? "Most" of our sheep are named according to the year they were born, especially those born here on our farm. Our first lambs had "A" names, so this being our 6th year, our lambs all have "F" names. It makes it easy for us when looking at our flock to know the age of the sheep. The sheep that we bring in to our flock sometimes have their own names, or I'll rename them according to our flock year. On this blog, I'm trying to post the oldest ewes first, then I'll move on to rams, then lambs.

Your pictures are always beautiful. Do you set up web sites? If so maybe we can work something out.
